Special Education Roundtable

This workshop will provide special education teachers the opportunity to collaborate with other special educators in order to create/edit lessons, assessments, IEPs, and, ultimately, work together to better their teaching. The session will consist of strategies that can be used in the classroom. It is recommended that participants come as a team or from the same district.

Special Education Transition from Middle School to High School: 1/2-day session

This workshop is designed to discuss the special education student’s transition from middle school to high school. The overall discussion will focus on the social, emotional, and academic transition, working toward an appropriate level of independence at the respective developmental level. Topics will include the social and emotional impact of this transition, preparing for the academic transition beginning in 6th grade, and how to transition support and services from a level of dependence to a level of independence. Workshop topics will include, IEP writing specific to PLAAFPs, goals and objectives, modifications and accommodations, and understanding the difference in course levels.
