Does requesting a workshop guarantee that I will be enrolled?

All requests are reviewed by administration for approval. If a workshop has enough interest, the Northern Valley Curriculum Center will offer as many sections as possible. We do our best to accommodate the requests that we receive, however at times, constraints of space, facilitator availability, and district allocations may prevail.

How do I find out if I will be attending the workshops I requested?

Workshop registrations are sent to every superintendent's office in September. Additionally, workshop confirmations are emailed to attendees in September. Three weeks in advance of the workshop, the Northern Valley Curriculum Center will also send a Google Calendar invite with details including location, parking, etc. Please be sure to RSVP to this Calendar invite.

What time is my workshop?

Workshops run from 8:30-3:00, 1/2 day workshops run from 8:30-11:00; details including the start and end time are sent to registrants via a Google Calendar invite three weeks ahead of the workshop date.

Where do we gather?

Workshop locations vary, but usually take place on one of the Northern Valley schools' campuses located in Demarest or Old Tappan . All details for a workshop, including its location, can be found in the Google Calendar invite which is sent by the Northern Valley Curriculum Center three weeks in advance of the workshop date. In addition to reviewing the important details for the workshop, please be sure to RSVP to this Calendar invite.

Who do I notify if I can't attend a workshop?

We understand that emergencies arise. If you cannot attend a workshop, please email curriculumandinstruction@nvnet.org, copying your supervisor. Please also be sure to follow protocols for your building in terms of attendance/absence management.

How can I teach a workshop?

The Northern Valley Curriculum Center values and honors teacher leadership. If you have content area expertise that you would like to share, you are encouraged to contact Virginia Senande, Supervisor of Professional Learning, at 201-768-2200 ext. 12305. The professional learning offerings are generally created in January-February for the following school year.
